Arbor Springs of West Des Moines, the leader in dementia care, is seeking to fill an opening for a weekend package Cook. We are conveniently located 1 block West of Jordan Creek Mall. Because of our high standards, we seek out and select only the best. Arbor Springs is a 56 bed skilled nursing facility specializing in Alzheimer's and dementia care. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated professional staff in a home like environment.

Responsibilities of this position include but not limited to:

*Prepare residents' diets in accordance with diet orders and daily menus

*Assist the food service supervisor to determine the amount and type of food necessary to prepare the daily menus

*Monitor use of food to eliminate waste

*Stock food in compliance with dietary policies and procedures

*Adhere to food production and usage schedules

*Understand and be able to prepare therapeutic diets

*Follow menus and prepare food and beverages

*Organize duties to complete meal service in a timely manner

*Assure kitchen equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitied according to dietary procedures.

*Perform other duties or related projects as assigned by dietary services manager

Required education/certification:

*High school diploma or equivalent

*ServeSafe certified preferred but not required
